Deal With Your Oily Skin

A lot of us suffer from different skin problems whether it be acne prone skin, dry skin, or oily skin, they’re all bound to leave us feeling just a little insecure and very annoyed. One of the biggest skin problems is in fact oily skin since it triggers acne and other skin problems as well. So here is how you can fix oily skin and get back to having a smooth, matte complexion.
1. Buy the Right Products
If you’re suffering from oily skin, you’ll notice that your skin will get oilier and oilier as the day goes on. Look for skin and makeup products that are oil-free and non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog your pores. MAC offers some really good concealers and cover-ups that won’t clog your pores or make you break out.
2. Use the Right Moisturizer and Face Wash
Even though you use oil-free products, that just may not be enough. Because your skin produces so much oil, it can sometimes lead to pimples, therefore it’s important to use a 2% salicylic-acid spot treatment face wash and moisturizer. Stay away from benzoyl-peroxide infused products since it can dry out your skin too much and therefore lead to even more pimples.
3. Use Mineral Makeup
Mineral makeup is the best kind of makeup you can use on oily skin since it is non-comedogenic and very light on your skin. You can also find concealers that contain salicylic-acid which help cover and treat blemishes.
4. Use an SPF 30
If you find that you break out from using sunscreen, try an SPF 30 and test it out by putting a little bit of the product onto your jawline and sleeping on it for 3 nights. If your breakout, at least it’ll only be on that little area and you should look for a different product.

Fix Your Oily Skin

Oily skin can have its downs at times, but there are ways that you can get rid of it, at least temporarily. You must know that in order for your skin to be going through any kind of change, you first must take proper care of it. That means that you cannot neglect your daily routine (both morning and night).
Those with oily skin reproduce excess oil in their skin. It’s very important to stay away from products that contain oil as this will make it even worse.
Start off in the morning by washing your face with an oil-free face wash such as Neutrogena for oily skin. Then, use a toner to gently soak up the excess oil and dirt left on your face. It is not recommended that you wear a moisturizer since your skin already has so much moisture, but if you must, use a very light moisturizer.
Throughout the day, stay away from any makeup that contains any oil. Choose an oil-free foundation, and use a loose powder. Stay away from any cream shadows or blushes as this will add more oil to your skin. Instead use powders and blot gently with a tissue.
At night, follow the same routine as in the morning. You can use an oil absorbing product both in the morning and before bed. This will soak up all of the excess moisture. Keep up this routine and slowly your skin will start to look and feel less oily.
